Summer 2025: A Season of Commitment and Growth

News - Intro image
As summer comes to a close, TUO would like to highlight the key moments that made this 2025 season so rich in initiatives, connections, and development.

Camps and Summer Services: Memorable Experiences for Youth and Adults

We welcomed 104 children and teens to our summer camps. Families benefited from two weeks of respite while the youth enjoyed enriching and stimulating activities.
The adult sector offered a summer program filled with engaging and appreciated activities.
A huge thank you to our facilitators for their energy and dedication to the youth, and to our coordinators and educators who created a caring and safe environment throughout the summer.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our partners. Thanks to your commitment, generosity, and collaboration, our summer activities were filled with meaningful moments, discoveries, and shared smiles. Your support makes a real difference in our community, and we are deeply grateful to count on you:

  • Propeller Dance
  • Zoothérapie KA
  • Relais Plein-air
  • Adrénaline +
  • Ferme éco-des-champs
  • Salle de quilles Paris
  • Centre Sportif
  • National Gallery of Canada
  • Vélo-Service

Services and Programming: A Strengthened and Adapted Offering

This fall, we are planning workshops for parents as well as conferences on topics that matter to you.
For families, TUO is preparing to increase respite spaces to continue supporting you even more.

Communication and Visibility: A New Dynamic

We’ve launched a new communication strategy with more bilingual posts on Facebook and Instagram, aiming to better inform the community while continuing our awareness efforts.
We’ve also improved our newsletters and are preparing a publication calendar for the fall.
The website has been updated, especially in the “Contact Us“, “Activities and Services” and “Jobs” sections.

Human Resources and Governance: A Team in Motion

We express our gratitude for the outstanding work of our two summer coordinators, Laura and Gabrielle, and we warmly welcome Daniel, our new coordinator and Annie, our new educator.
In our commitment to continuous improvement, an employee satisfaction survey was conducted. Here are the three key takeaways:

  • The vast majority of respondents are satisfied with their experience at TUO, feel recognized, and would recommend their workplace to a colleague or friend.
  • Comments highlight teamwork quality, positive atmosphere, and good organization as major strengths.
  • Areas for improvement most often cited include the need for more resources, services, and greater involvement in decision-making and information sharing.

Finance and Community Support: Essential Contributions

We sincerely thank our partners, including CISSS de l’Outaouais, Emploi Québec, Loisir Sport Outaouais, the City of Gatineau, and L’APPUI, for their unwavering support.
Our fundraising campaign is actively ongoing, and we will continue to focus on it to ensure the medium- and long-term development of our services.
