Corporation, membership et financing
Trait d'Union Outaouais inc. (TUOI) is a non-profit organization, largely subsidized by the Regional
Health and Social Services Board of the Outaouais region. Given that the needs of autistic persons and
their families are often greater than their means, we gratefully accept donations of any kind (receipts
are issued for donations).
At present, the general assembly is composed of about 60(sixty) people, the majority of which are
parents of children and adolescents receiving services at TUOI.
The nine (9) volunteer members of the Board of Directors are elected by the general assembly
(except for the representative of the employees who is elected by the general assembly of the local
union). The allocation of seats is as follows: five (5) seats are reserved for parents of children
and adolescents receiving TUOI services, three (3) are reserved for representatives of the social
services network and the community and one (1) is filled by the employees' representative.
There are two categories of members at TUOI : the families and the regular members. The annual
fee of $30 for both categories is mandatory for families wishing to receive services and also for
persons sitting on the Board of Directors.
Showing support for the cause of autistic persons and for our organization can be done in different
ways: by becoming a member, by sharing one's knowledge and expertise, by making donations, by participating
in different committies, by volunteering for regular or special activities, or for our fund raising campaigns.
