Thinking of volunteering with TUOI ?
You would like to help people and support an organization by
giving time and sharing knowledge and experience? Why not join
TUOI as a volunteer?
Our organization's mission is to offer services to
individuals aged between 0 and 21 years, having been
diagnosed as autistic or having another pervasive
developmental disorder (PDD) as well as to offer
support to their families and close ones.
Here are the different kinds of help needed:
- Accompanying groups to varied activities (evenings
and week-ends, especially during the school year);
- Helping out at day camps during the summer;
- Sharing special talents such as: crafts, music,
children's games, sports, etc.;
- Helping out with our child care service to allow
parents to participate in activities (mostly evenings during the week);
- Assuming administrative tasks;
- Participating in fund raising activities;
- Sitting on selective or regular committees in
order to share your expertise;
- Participating in a variety of annual events
(Christmas parties, Autism Awareness Month -
April - and others).
It is also possible to volunteer on an occasional
basis (annual events, fund raising) or on a regular
basis (group accompaniments, administrative work)
according to your availability. A basic training
concerning Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD)
can be offered free of charge to regular volunteers
(6 hours course with certificate of accreditation).
